Clever Gardening Technique

Enhance Seed Germination
If you have trouble germinating seeds in cool soil early in the season, cover the bed with clear plastic sheeting. This concentrates warmth and promotes germination. However, if temperatures heat up, your mini-greenhouse will "cook" seedlings, so monitor regularly and remove as soon as possible. Weigh down the plastic edges with bricks, rocks or soil to prevent wind from blowing it away.
