Biloxi Farmers Market Fall Festival
Join me on Thursday, Sept 30, 9am- 1pm, for a special day at the great Farmers Market in Biloxi, Mississippi. Seventy vendors will be joined by garden clubs, environmental groups, extension agents and speakers like me. The Market takes on huge fall flavor for this event, with specialty vendors, a pumpkin patch and activities for school groups. As a certified farmers market vendor myself, I am proud to be included in this big event. Stop by my booth, GardenMama Station, for 2 demonstrations: "Grow Anything Planting Mix" and "Build a Garden Cloche". I'll be doing one each hour, signing books and introducing folks to my handmade, homegrown offerings. Tell me you read about this event here and get a special thank-you gift from me.

Still Tasty
As its name implies, Still Tasty tells you how to store foods and how long they will remain safe to eat and remain tasty. The defined parameters are normally available in American homes: 60-70 degrees for pantry storage, refrigerator temperatures between 35 and 45 degrees, below 0 for freezing. The site gathers information from government entities, both state and federal, and from nonprofits that research food safety and food quality. The data is easy to access, and yes, there's an iPhone app for it, too.
