Outside, 750,000 white lights sparkle and welcome you and your family to the Garden's wonderland. Favorite or New Plant

Christmas cactus %%%Christmas Fantasy%%%
I love my Christmas cactus because it is so reliable even when I neglect it. I love mine because it has a sense of humor. It always blooms the week before Thanksgiving, so it really is a Christmas fantasy. Give this plant moderately fertile soil, moderate moisture and good light. These plants can actually give us blossoms several times a year if planned well. To get it to set blooms, dry it out slightly and expose it to cold temperatures (as cold as 45 degrees). This causes a physiological shift and the plant will set flower buds. I simply leave mine outdoors until the temperature drops for one night, bring it indoors and before long it blooms like crazy.
