Web Resources on Pests and Beneficials
There are so many great websites for learning about pest and beneficial insects. Here are three great resources to keep you busy learning for a long time. Each has a number of helpful photos, and information on the life cycle, habitat, plants attacked or, in the case of beneficial insects, the pests they attack.

Magnifier Loupe
Microscopes are expensive and standard magnifying glasses are okay, but a magnifier loupe, like jewelers use, is an inexpensive way to get a very good view of tiny pests, their larvae, and their eggs. These loupes are available from a number of sources and an online search will reveal many choices in the $5 to $10 range. Some even have a small light in the loupe, although this is not required for good viewing.
