The New Book of Salvias: Sages for Every Garden
The New Book of Salvias: Sages for Every Garden by Betsy Clebsch (Timber Press, 2nd Edition, 2003 ) is a great resource for salvia lovers. The book includes information on 150 species, with interesting historical information, detailed descriptions, plant growth habit, propagation, garden companions, and more. Approximately 150 color photos along with color drawings and sketches make it a very useful and informative book.

Favorite or New Plant

Salvia 'Summer Jewel'
This 2011 All America Selection blooms early and keeps on blooming prolifically from spring to fall. It is compact, reaching about 20 inches high. The blooms rising on upright spikes above the dark green foliage are very bright scarlet red. 'Summer Jewel' really attracts attention in the landscape in planting beds or containers.
