Tour of Southern England
If you've ever dreamed of visiting the best gardens in the UK, including Sissinghurst, Great Dixter, and RHS Wisley, the flagship garden of the Royal Horticulture Society, think about traveling with me in late summer, September 8-17, when the crowds are gone and the gardens are magnificent. This trip also includes visits to a number of historic homes and other places of interest, such as Jane Austin's House & Museum, Churchill's Chartwell Estate, the Duke of Wellington's Stratfield Saye House & Estate, Kensington Palace, Leeds Castle, or Canterbury Cathedral. Carolinas Gardener's Handbook
The Carolinas Gardener's Handbook by Toby Bost and Bob Polomski (Cool Springs Press, 2012) is an indispensable tool for the novice gardener as well as a valuable reference for the expert. The book is packed, from one cover to the other, with plant information and cultivation advice. In addition to plant picks and growing know-how, this books is superbly organized, a must for any gardening guide. As a Master Naturalist, I particularly appreciate eco-sensitive advice on composting, watering, and other "going green" topics. Simply put, this book will help you meet all your gardening challenges, be they few or many.
