'Herbstsonne' Shiny Coneflower
Rudbeckia nitida 'Herbstsonne' looks like a 6-foot shrub! It's a perfect backdrop for other plants and a beacon in the late-summer perennial border. This particular cultivar has an upright form with bright golden yellow flowers from July through October. You may also find it offered as 'Autumn Sun', the English translation of its German name. Best of all, it doesn't need any staking!

Lawn Renovation
Early fall is the best time to renovate a lawn in our region. How do you know if it's time for renovation rather than repair? If more than half of your lawn is weeds or bare soil, renovation is in order. Find out how to get your lawn back on track with University of Minnesota's Lawn Renovation. It includes information on lawns for both sunny and partially shaded areas.
