San Clemente Garden Club GardenFest
On Saturday, April 12, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. the GardenFest will offer a plant sale with strawberries as a special feature, along with a garden flea market, a flower and garden art show with artists painting live, and the opportunity for kids to plant and take home flowers of their own. Also find information on what current drought conditions mean for gardeners in the region. Gardenfest will be held at the San Clemente Community Center, 100 N. Calle Seville, San Clemente. Clever Gardening Technique

Keep Seed Bed From Crusting
Soil that forms a crust kills germinating seeds before they can break through the soil surface. To lessen this problem, cover the seeds with a thin layer of compost, potting mix or other light-textured substance, rather than the heavier soil.
