Multicolored Asian Ladybeetle
Many of us are experiencing this awful, annual ladybeetle invasion and although we know the ladybeetles are the gardener's friends, they can be really hard to live with. The University of Missouri offers a website, called Multicolored Asian Lady Beetle, that describes what they're about and how to cope. (Hint: Caulk and the household vacuum are major weapons here.) If nothing else, it's nice to know they will fly away home all on their own next spring.

Shows & Events

A Garden Fantasy, Longwood Gardens
What can six highly skilled gardeners do with four indoor acres, 20,000 mums and almost a year of lead time? Seeing is believing at A Garden Fantasy, this year's fantabulous seasonal mum display at Longwood Gardens. Look for fairies, lizards, cascades and flower curtains not to mention family-oriented activities, behind the scenes tours, lectures and demonstrations and of course, carillon and fountain shows. Longwood Gardens, Route 1, Kennett Square, PA 19328-0501. Tel.(610)388-1000.
