Local Buzz

Mulch Shortage
The National Bark & Soil Producers Association predicts there will be a shortage of pink bark mulch products in the East this spring and summer. As demand for mulch is expected to grow by 8% to 10% this year, production has decreased due to the closing of a number of mills in the East this winter and electric generating facilities using less expensive bark chips instead of oil or gas to reduce costs.

So get your bark mulch early and perhaps even buy a little more now for fall.
