This is my first time posting on this forum but I have lurked and read. I am a fickle gardener and have redone my front yard number of times, Right now my front gardens are established roses, newly planted iris, and I have about 30 daylilies coming from Schrieners. I envision the iris blooming in the spring, roses next, and then daylilies. Then the rose will bloom in a second wave. I chose Schrieners for the daylilies because I wanted some of Bill Maryott's intros. What is your favorite source?

I've ordered mostly from Oakes. They send nice large bunches, have a good selection and a good "$10 or less" section.

I have been looking at Park Lane Daylilies, too. Hope someone will put up a comment about them.

I was one of the first 300 contributors to the plant database! Plant Identifier
Homestead Farms in Owensville Mo. Ron sends nice large plants at least 2 fans or more and they always do well for me. I used to order from Oakes but many of theirs are just over priced so it depends on what it is.

Thank you for asking this question, Paul, AND thank you for responding Frillylily! I won some daylilies from last fall's not a raffle raffle, and they were fantastic this year (so I want to landscape with more of them); however, the vendor has retired. Thank You!

Do it!! She is a pleasure to deal with, great daylilies, and she has a reserve program, wherein you can reserve the daylilies you'll want to buy in Spring. I've ordered from Park Lane three times, and been very happy.

I'll add this personal experience: this past Spring, I had several daylilies -- from many different sellers -- that didn't come back. I emailed to ask her about an inexpensive daylily that I wanted to reorder, and she offered to send it for me for only the cost of shipping. I also added a $5 daylily to it, Pretty Little Polly. And even though my order was just the free replacement daylily and a $5 one, she included a bonus. Hurray!

Interestingly, I was just thinking a couple of days ago that I've given more money to one seller than any of about a dozen that I've ordered from. I've gotten many of my pricier daylilies from Michael Miller (Small World). Pretty sure I also owe him my firstborn.

I've spent more on the Lily Auction, but that's been spread out over several different sellers. If you haven't made an account there, I highly recommend it; you can get some great buys there and save money on your most wanted.

Thanks everyone for your kind responses. My order from Schriener's will be here later today or tomorrow and I will comment on the quality of the plants. Will look at the Lily Auction but that may be a mistake as I can be a pushover. As I mentioned before I chose Schriener's as a source because I wanted Mayott daylilies......

You can probably find Maryott daylilies on the Lily Auction, and likely for less than you'll pay at Schreiner's. (I've ordered from Schreiner's, and was happy with the plants, but didn't like the lack of communication.) Also, there are sellers there that list "single fans" that generally send doubles or more.

I caught a "single fan" of Smiling Cobra that no one else had bid on for $10.50. It shipped as a double fan, and sent up a third fan shorty after it arrived.

It's way too hot to plant now. But I do plan on buying a few from Park Lane later. They suggest calling before you place an order. Their prices are better than Oakes on what I'm looking for. But they only promise 2 fans where Oakes usually sends a minimum of 3. I can live with that for the difference in price.

I agree about some of Oakes being overpriced. This forum has been helpful to me in identifying other reliable sellers with better prices. Problem is that not everyone carrys every daylily. So you do have to pick and choose.

I'm nervously waiting for my order to arrive. Helper coming tomorrow to help plant. I formerly put a milk basket over newly planted iris for shade, I may do that for a few days but they will sure look ugly in my groomed beds. Another order coming after the 26th. Will be taking out some lawn for more room. My children think I am nuts but are used to it. I'll list what I am planting later......

Paul good luck with your garden expansion. Bare in mind that some daylilies bloom at different times of the season starting at "EE" =extra early to "VL" = very late. Others fit between those. Some are consistent rebloomers while some are sporadic. You can always do some research here to help you in this regard. All in all you are going to love them.

You will love the plants from Kathy Maynard at Park Lane Daylilies. I have ordered from her every year for the past 5 years.

A few other excellent sellers are:
https://oakhill.plantfans.com/ Bonnie Nichols is one of the best. Her plants always perform well for me. She is a sweetheart!

http://dancingdaylily.com/ Becky is having a clump sale right now, but she sends clumps anyway. Her bonus is extra fans...usually five or six.

https://www.mpflowergarden.com... Mark and Patty are not too far from me. Love visiting with them...large plants, extra fans and bonus plants with every order. They are having a BOGO sale through October.

http://www.floydcovenursery.co... Huge plants with very generous bonus plants and fans.

https://www.northernlightsdayl... They open up the web page for sales in November. Sale single fans but usually I received two or three. Prices are as low as $3.99 for some cultivars. They pot plant and sell as single fans with any extras. They always sell out, so shop early. Shipping is $4.00 for every plant ordered which may seem expensive, but the price of the plants are low.

http://www.wynnsdaylilygarden.... Love Gene and Jessica. They sell on facebook as well as through their website. I've ordered from them every year.

http://www.rainbowacres.net/ Kelly has great plants at good prices. Extra fans and bonus plants. I usually order from him in the spring.

I am a repeat customer to all of these sellers. Not only do they send excellent plants, they are excellent people and great to deal with.

Last fall, I picked out some daylilies that I was going to order from Oakes Daylilies for 2019. I was surprised and disappointed when went to order them this spring and discovered that their price had increased by $10 each. Maybe the prices are high because they offer a lifetime replacement?

I found one that I was going to order from Oakes at a much lower price at Smokey's Gardens but I cannot recommend them. The plants I received were very, very small plus I was sent the wrong plants. They no longer had what I wanted and they offered replacements which turned out to be small and straggly so I won't be ordering from them again. They haven't bloomed this year so I don't know if I got the right plants.

Have ordered from Homestead and they're pretty good. I have looked at Park Lane Daylilies, Hem Haven Daylilies and Bell's Daylilies but haven't ordered from them. Thanks for the recommendations, Pat, and if anyone has any feedback about Hem Haven or Bell's, I'd appreciate it.

Pat I have gotten daylilies from Bonnie before. I highly recommend Mr Bell. Nice person to talk to. Honest and send nice plants. Abundant daylilies on the auction has a great selection of daylilies. His website bears the same name I believe.
