Three of my faves regardless of the letter

The first time I saw Chasing Rainbows bloom in my garden I was impressed, as it bloomed the first year.. I planted it in a raised bed. The next year, I transplanted it into the ground, and it didn't bloom. Hopefully it will bloom this year. Thank you Barbara!




I forgot to mention that the blooms were huge, the plant grew tall with strong stems, with branching and increases. I expect good things to come from it!

Second, C's were rough to choose. I have a lot in that group I LOVE, like Candy Cane Cutie, and Conjouring Cat. But here are my 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th place.

Jan, I'm looking forward to seeing 'the Captain' in my garden this year, and Evelyn for bringing attention to Chasing Rainbows which I mindlessly left off my list (probably because it's in a pot with poor sun hours until late March, so my plant blooms late with all the Keppel's).

I forgot to mention this lovely iris that Daphne sent to me. It is SO colorful! Thank you, Daphne!

C must be for colorful...here's another one that couldn't be ignored. It was a late-bloomer in the first week of June.

And a classic red by Ghio: Cardinal Rule. I bought 2 of them in case 1 didn't survive. It worked out well because 1 bloomed in 2018 and the other in 2019.

I really like the color combo on Chemistry too. I hope to add a few more of the little guys. Does anyone have some that rebloom? I think they are cute and look nice when they make a clump.

Y'all know this classic from Paul Black?

I'm a little surprised that no one's brought up the idea that their entire collection of iris fall under the 'C' category.

In other words, when someone walks up to me at home and asks which iris I love, I point at the one in bloom and reply, " 'C' that iris right there? It's one of my favorites!"
