...which would it be? Mine would be my Livistona palm as I think it's a very graceful and well organised plant! The opening of the fronds is such a painstaking process with the concertinaed leaves stretching out gradually to create such large leaves. I'm just worried that spider mites will come and take over! Just a fun Q!

What's crazy is I was thinking to start a thread exactly like this. I still need to think on my end. I wanted to order some new Cacti but the selection is so mind blowing. If you could only keep one, which one would it be???

Fun thread!!

Wow, there's a dilemma!

I would choose my Sansevieria "Frosty Spears" as I rooted it from a single leaf and it is so beautiful.

Gee, it would be impossible to keep ONLY ONE but I guess today, right now, at this exact minute, I'd have to say it would be one of my Aglaonema plants, probably this one (can't remember the name) because I love the colorful foliage:

Edited to say, I looked through my files to find the name; it's Anyamanee (Aglaonema 'Dud Unyamanee')

Oh Lord, what a tough question to answer! A really tough one! I guess it would be my Sansevieria cylindrica. This is one @gasrocks gave me. It's been blown out of it's pot (more like, fell off the plant stand twice and fell out of the pot) and it just keeps going! It bloomed for me last year and has a pup going wild. I really should get a better picture, this one is probably almost two years old or close to that and the baby isn't present (wasn't there until after it bloomed.

ONE ????? How about just 100?

My white leaf Philo. sport comes to mind.
I have about 15 pots of Sansv. grown from seed I collected after trying to cross breed them. Still unidentified.
I have one plant that is older than I am. I am 71.
I have way too many Sansv. Cylindrica that are about 45 years old.
I have probably 25 - 35 species of Sansv. that I never see for sale anywhere.
My Ficus Religiosa that is about 15 years old that I grew from seed. Seed collected form a descendent of the one that Gautama Buddha sat under.

I am sure I can think of more later.

I have 147 different jars of spices and blends in my kitchen.
Visitors ask which is my favorite one.
Visitors also ask if any of them are good on chicken.

I may be disqualified from answering because I can grab at least 20 plants from just one (of so many combos) pot!

Reminds me of a joke told by someone on one of those late night TV shows. I forget who. Host asked him if his house was burning down and he could only grab 3 things, what would he grab. He thought for a bit and said: Well, I have to save Fred. He is my all time favorite dog. And I guess I would also grab Billy my parrot. He is a great parrot. Pause. 3rd? I guess I'd grab one of the twins.

What a tough question.
Maybe.. variegated Dracaena braunii, my potted lucky bamboo. I like the upright style, great for low light, keeps adding new stems, can be cut and rooted.

Or ponytail palm, it deserves a long life, after surviving my mother in laws windowsill and those glued rocks
Plant it and they will come.

Ming Aralia (Polyscias fruticosa) was grown from a cutting taken from a client 30+ years ago. It has had to live on a narrow windowsill ever since so it has stayed in the same pot throughout. It is pruned several times per year. The roots are left alone - never pruned. The pot is sealed. It has been a fun challenge!

Man! This is one of those if your were to be stranded on an island questions. Not fair or really ever to be an issue unless the solor grand minimum is really going to become an issue and somehow I am still obsessed with plants kind of thing? I only keep plants in my home for freezes but I recently made an exception with a Giant Bird of Paradise (Strelitzia Nicolai). It has done better inside for me than outdoors Blinking I know. Weird.....I know, but this is why it would win house plant stats for me. Asking for just one plant Grumbling ....hah. What kid will you keep? Very mean question Rolling on the floor laughing
