I finally got off the pot and made my reservation for the clinic.

I am going down Thursday night so I don't have to fight traffic through Portland on a Friday morning.

I am hoping that there are other folks that are going down on Thursday and staying at the Phoenix Inn that I can follow to Lynn's house on Friday morning because I get lost when I try to find her house. I really need to get GPS.

I am so looking forward to getting away for this weekend.

And I am in for the Friday night dinner.

Asa, I so wish you two were coming. I miss you already. Group hug

Melissa, do a google map from Phoenix Inn to my place. It gives very good instructions.
Julia will you guys be checking in to the Inn before you come here? If so Melissa could follow you.

I can't wait to see everyone. AND, we have some new comers attending this year. Hurray!

I'm going to post a bit about traveling to the yards from the Phoenix hotel. It is easy from the highway but your GPS will try to send you through downtown Salem. It might be a tenth of a mile shorter but not quicker!

Sorry, I thought I was in '19 thread!

OK here goes!

To get to Phoenix Inn from the North:

From the I-5 highway, take the Kuebler Blvd exit. If you're coming from the north, you will take a RIGHT at the exit. Stay in the right hand lane. You should see signs that say SOUTH SALEM fairly soon. Drive about one mile and take a RIGHT on Commercial Blvd. This is a major intersection. Stay in the right lane and go about 1/2 mile. The Phoenix Inn is just past the Walgreen's drug.

To get to Lynn's and my place from Phoenix Inn:

To reverse direction on Commercial Blvd., go RIGHT out of Phoenix Inn and turn into the organic grocery store just down from the hotel. Go in that parking lot and go to the light and take a LEFT to get back on Commercial Blvd. Stay in the right lane and as the road splits veer to the right on Sunnyside. At the next traffic light, take a RIGHT to get back on Kuebler Blvd. Follow Kuebler Blvd. about 4 miles. You will go through a roller coaster area and the road makes a strong right hand turn at the top of the roller coaster. The road becomes Viewcrest. Follow it until it ends at River Road South, just east of Robert's Crossing. Take a LEFT and go about 1 mile to 4358 River Road South (my house). I share a driveway entrance with my neighbors at 4360, go to the left to park in my driveway. My yard has lots of flower beds and a large deer fence.

To get to Lynn's, continue on River Road South towards Independence. After you go over the Willamette River Bridge, take a RIGHT. Go straight through the three-way stop and go about 3/4 mile and take a LEFT on Polk Street. Follow it until it ends at Highway 99 W. Take a right at this corner and continue until you see a flashing light. Take a LEFT at this intersection on Clow Corner Road. Follow this road for about 5-6 miles until you enter Dallas. Look for a sign for SE Holman Blvd. to the LEFT. Be sure to go SLOWLY on this street. Lynn's house sits to the left and you'll see gardens but not many semps in the front yard. The fun stuff is in the back.

Mangiare's Restaurant is at 114 S Main Street in Independence. There is lots of parking on the streets there. Our dinner there is at 445 PM. They have a wonderful mix of Italian favorites.

Robert's Crossing Restaurant is one mile from my house, going east on River Road South.

Let me know if there are any questions!

Kevin

Okay, so far I have 17 going to dinner Friday 26th @ Mangiare.

Kevin have you heard from Dancing Oaks, the Landers, Chris Yoder, I don't think they check in here on the thread?

I will check on Ruth and Seedable Plants.

Also, I haven't heard anything from @ricos
Jo Ann are you out there?

Lynn,

The Landers are a no for dinner and I'll check on the Dancing Oaks guys and Chris. The DO guys work on Friday and Chris is in classes then.

Thanks for your work. I promised the folks at Mangiare I'd give them a heads up as soon as possible so they could plan for more servers, etc.

Had a nice chat with Katie at Robert's Crossing and they are excited about having us come for dinner. We are FULL there now. Late comers could still dine there but not in the shed because of the fire's marshall's rules.

I'm deciding on my menu for Saturday's lunch but I promise Julia that my mom's chicken and potato salads will make the cut! I'll share recipes with those who want both. They were bridge club favorites in MA.

We aim to please Julia. Mangiare will be a new one for some of the attendees. I know that several of you have been on other trips to Salem. We thought Italian might be something different as we haven't done that in the past.

Next year our hotel will be in Independence which will be really close to everything.

Hi guys... I have a conflict that weekend (Friday and Saturday) but it is a "flexible" conflict. My volkswalk club is hosting a planned, flagged 5-10k walk and will need a number of volunteers for various positions. I've been watching this thread and now see that Robert's is up to 27 now if everyone comes.

I figure I should be able to make PO on Sunday unless I am needed to help "sweep Trail" here Sunday morning. I hope to make it to your place Lynn at least for part of Friday. I really won't know until closer to that weekend when our members sign up to help. And it is not unusual to be short on help! Angry . You all know how that goes sometimes.
