You're right Lynn. it seems like it's all going to happen now. I remember our first one and Julia and Greg have made every one.

I was looking over the seedlings today thinking of problems/questions that we could use in the class. This is my best group of seedlings BY FAR and I know the sneak peek that Greg and Julia got in November showed them some of the fun things that will come. The striped one is just the tip of the iceberg.

Now the tough job of getting the menu set at Robert's.

Oh No...not that sibling comparison going on already?

It's the plant breeder's lament: why can't one of the seedlings in a cross have all the good traits? Occasionally you get lucky.

The sibling has the Silver Song form but no striping. There is a sib that is all dark with Silver Song form though. That was the original intent of the cross, a near black with Silver Song form. I'll get it in the next generation along with a striped one in Silver Song form. The genes are all there.

Too bad nobody wanted to experiment further with our family genes...We probably could have gotten somebody with long legs and financial smarts...Wait, we did get one of those, my sister! Sighing!

I think the financial smarts is going to take somebody further than my the artist's eye...Can you lend me twenty bucks, Kevin?

Okay, now to serious talk about the Clinic. I would like to know what all of you would like to do/see, some new ideas?

What I would really like to see is a demonstration of pollinating the plants. I have read the part of Kevin's book that deals with it several times but I am one of those people who learns much better by watching. I would also like to see demonstration of working with the tiny seedlings.

Great ideas Melissa. We might be able to demonstrate working with the tiny seedlings, but the pollinating part would have to wait until there are actual blooms out in the beds.
I am like you, I need to actually see the process to fully understand.

If there are any flowers that early, I'd love to see a demonstration of pollinating the plants. I learn easier that way too. I'm also hoping to get in some Nursery stops.

Hurray! We've decided to attend! We'll fly in, rent a car and stay at the Phoenix Inn. Please put us down on the list for everything...Kent & Karen. Hurray!

That's really great Karen! So glad you are going to join us. Last year was my first time and I had a great time, except for getting lost a couple of times.

Thanks, Melissa, I'm really excited about it. We won't get lost because I won't be driving! We'd definitely be lost if I drove. I only drive in my known areas.

Oh I forgot the nurseries Karen. Two MUST SEES are Sebright Nursery in Brooks and Dancing Oaks Nursery in Monmouth. Both have great gardens and unusual plant offerings. Both easy drives from the hotel.
