@catanache & @queenanne42
Welcome! Laura and Anne.
If you want other plants for your garden but are saving $ for more irises, this site's seed swaps are great fun. First time swappers can get in with only a few seed packets to donate, and come out with over 100 packets of seeds of all kinds. The cost is that of shipping your own seeds to the host (I spent $3 on my first swap) plus $8 sent to the host for return shipping. There are 3 swaps already listed for next Fall. You can sign up for one and lurk to see what is getting listed. You can remove yourself from the list at anytime. Self-collected seed is welcomed. I started with wild rose mallow seed and seeds from a few pods on my Hardy Hibiscus. I haven't had time to plant everything I got last year, but I managed to grow heirloom tomatoes, peppers, and a variety of other veggies. I planted flowers I didn't know existed until last year. I have 80 seedling daylilies and 30 seedling amaryllis in my basement right now. Hilarious!
Then again - maybe you shouldn't join a seed swap... Rolling on the floor laughing

Newbies ~ Caution! People will entice you with not only irises to share but SEEDS too! Whistling

You had better be prepared to spend all of your waking time, spring through fall, doing garden-related chores....seed-starting, seed-swapping, iris swapping, reading garden catalogs, weeding (many hours of this), chatting about what plants, seeds and irises you received or want on the various garden forums, then posting pictures, sharing your bounty...but mainly, irises here. Whistling

Oh, I'll be around. Probably slip back into lurking at some point. Spring does get busy. I haven't been in any seed exchanges here but did participate in a few way back before GardenWeb became Houz. I'm starting daylilies and calla lilies from seed this year. I've long ago succumbed to the full garden addiction. Whistling Hilarious! Thumbs up
