It looks like one of the Crotons to me. I'm not sure which one. I don't consider them good houseplants unless you have an extremely brightly lit spot for one. They like a western or a southern window or bright plant lights. They need humidity and a lot of light. Crotons must be kept evenly moist, but not soggy. Never let them get below 60 degrees F.
