All of my windows were fogged up this morning. 28F. I am building a new area of protected shade for house pants. 20' x 10' 40%. Protected from wind, deer, rabbits and thieves. It will mostly take the place of an area under a large Maple tree that I was using.

It tore Dallas up, most of my husband's family lives there, flooding at DFW, one of the parking structures was under water and the cars submerged, tornados cross the Texas A and M campus and destroyed some stuff in Bryan, the Austin area was hit in multiple places. Now its heading east. Said to be very slow moving so whatever nastiness its perpetrating may not pass over as fast as the last storm. It is scheduled to reach the level of Tallahassee at least, our weather says that we farther south inFL are in the 'marginal' area for severe weather but north of us is in it

Here is where I am at on moving things outside. All my tropical and Sansevieria are under lights and doing well. 65-75F. No real hurry. Besides they do not grow well in temps under 60 anyways. Looks like another 3 days until the highs get into the 50's. All my agave and large succulents are in "cold" rooms. 2 extra bedrooms that never get heat or A/C. It being WI, they stay at 40-55F all winter. Plants in there are dormant. But as it warms up outside the rooms get warmer and if they get too warm the plants will wake up and start to grow without light. These are always the first plants to get moved out, a must do. So the main factor to start a migration is the temps in those rooms compared to lack of freezing outside. 53F inside vs. 27F outside this AM.

once my outside gardening begins, my inside plants are at risk of neglect! Transition time is rough.

Then move your inside plants outside?

Checked several forecasts. Looks like Sat. will be the day I start moving things outside. Update - the 9th has a low of 35F forecast at present. Will have to wait and keep an eye on that.

I am mailing a cutting to a member next Monday. Started looking around to see which plants are candidates. Made me realize that I have probably hundreds of plants that I have not really seen for months. They are so crowded together that I cannot see any one's overall structure. That is one nice thing about moving them all out, I get to see and tend to each one individually.

This cold is affecting my brain. Every time I go to write, type the date I put down 10 March.
