I have an indoor mini rose that I'm planning to plant out in the summer. Just planning where to put it so it depends on its potential size. Thanks Smiling

Grocery store ones tend to get about 3 feet by 3 feet usually. They can get bigger but can also be smaller. Hard to say for sure until you plant it and see how happy it is in it's spot.

I've seen 'Jean Keneally' almost 7 ft. tall, growing outside.

It will depend on what the rose variety is. If it's a grocery store mini you probably won't be able to ID it. The only way to know for sure is to grow it and see. I would go with the average 3 X 3 and see what happens.

Jeri,s right though. Some minis can get very LARGE! Jeanne Lajoie is a mini climber and can get 12 ft. high while still having tiny blooms under an inch across. The "mini" part only pertains to the size of the blooms and leaves, not the size of the bush.

Very helpful, thanks. Tempted to put it in a pot outside first to see how it grows. Is that a bad idea? I don't have a lot outdoor space and I have a lot of plants in containers as I like to move them around.

If you're going to plant it in a pot outdoors, plan to pot it up gradually as it grows to require more room for roots -- but start out with AT LEAST twice as large as the container it's in now.
