Larry- I am now hybridizing 95% patterned dips a few dip ufs and the remainder of my tet program which isn't a whole lot. I made about 7000 seed last year and only planted 400, sold the rest and will do about the same this year.

7000 seeds is a lot, I would imagine selecting just 400 to plant would be very difficult.How are you adjusting to the big cut back? Life does change as we get older, and there is so much work and expense in growing things commercially. I can see it would leave very little time for anything else.

Oh Fred, you've gotten HERE'S TO YOU BILL ROBINSON -- How I envy you! Every one of those looks incredible! Rachel at Art Gallery Gardens notified me that all their new gorgeous dip intros croaked after being moved up to larger pots and were apparently poisoned by a batch of soil they got that was infected with something, so I changed to getting four tets instead, including RING NECKED PHEASANT that I've really wanted for a while now. But those dips were sooooo beautiful!... Sighing!

I was really looking forward to the dips, got the refund check a few days ago, I had much rather have the plants. Its really hard to find good dip patterns that will do well here, a few good dormant' s out there, they just need more cold days than I can give them.

Fred - What a gorgeous collection of Dips! I am finding that dips seem to do better down here in southeast central Florida. I don't know why, but I used to have about half tets and half dips, but the dip count is more now because they have survived despite the heat. They are tough!

Larry- Sorry I got sidetracked, most of the seed I plant will have at least 50% of my own breeding in them, not all, but most.

As far as cutting back, I am still working with what I love the most and have it down to the amount I can enjoy and maintain them so they preform at there best.

Mary- It does take a lot of time and some expense, but I have to do something, being retired I can't just sit in my recliner, I need this to keep my mind and body working.
