Found a scape on Exotic Candy. Listed as a mid, so didn't expect that one! It did bloom and re-bloom and set pods last year, so I think it likes it here to be blooming again already. Big Grin

I was out scape hunting yesterday, happy to find about 40 named varieties with scapes, a few buds with a hint of color. Most exciting for me was to find maybe a dozen of my own 2017 seedlings with scapes.
I also found several of my seedlings grown from Hemlady seeds that had scapes, and a half dozen of my culled Sattelmeier seedlings with buds.

Okay, perhaps this is cheating...
Last fall I got a couple of daylilies as bonuses included in hosta orders. I never did get around to planting them and have kept them in water all winter.

One of the darlings put up a scape. Patio Parade- a yellow, has one bud on its little bitty kitchen created scape.
I'm sure if the cats hadn't terrorized both plants all winter that they'd be in better shape. Just goes to show us how hardy daylilies are...
Bravery is not being unafraid. Bravery is being afraid and living life anyways.

I think about half of my 85 daylilies are in scape. I'm really looking forward to that! We just got the first rain we have had since February. Wonnerful!!

Well, here is the first of my 2017 seedlings to bloom this year. Big Yellow NOID x The Jury's Out. Not very impressive so far, but maybe the bud count and branching will show later as the scape ages. Of course I was expecting that cross to be yellow, but was hoping for more buds and branches.

Congrats on the seedling bloom Larry. I see some green with that yellow. A popular trait today.

I have scape's on a few. A couple scape's on 'June Williams Memorial' received from, Arlene down in south Florida, one on 'Marks Bouquet' from Dragons Meade Daylilys in Panama City Beach, and a couple in my Native American Heritage themed bed.
