I'm so excited....my husband and daughter are going to B.C....and they're going to stop off and get some roses for me!!! These are the ones I'm thinking of getting. I wish, though, that some of them weren't so tall!! Giant roses!!

1. Sweet Mademoiselle - tall
2. Mother and Child - super fragrant from Jalbert
3. Princess Charlene de Monaco - tall
4. Dee-Lish
5. Life of the Party - super fragrant
6. Pretty Lady Rose....maybe not....may not be very fragrant?
7. Pinkerbelle - tall
8. Violet's Pride

So what do you all think of these choices? Pics are always welcome!
Thank You!

Of the ones you have on your list, I only have Violet's Pride. It's a strong grower (for me, here) and has a great fragrance.
This will only be it's 2nd year though, and it's doing very nicely.

I second what Mike said. I have Violet's pride, and it is a vigorous grower, given it is less than a year old, and blessed me with blooms twice. I had to start pruning off the buds after to encourage more foliage growth. Princess Charlene de Monaco and, Mother and Child are both gorgeous!
Like you, I am not sure about Pretty Lady Rose rose. I am holding off on it. I do have other Downton Abbey inspired roses though---Anna's Promise, Violet's Pride, and Edith's Darling.

I agree with Shyam on the Downton Abbey series. Anna's Promise, Violet's Pride, and Edith's Darling are fine roses (although I think Edith's Darling might be a misclassified mini-flora rose; I've never seen another non-mini this small). Pretty Lady Rose, however, is not as pleasing to me as the other three. I have the rose, but it's probably a dud because it has been failing gradually ever since I acquired it. When it finally succumbs, I won't replace it. Ironically, "rose" is one of the synonyms for the dark pink color of its blooms, but it's definitely my least favorite color in roses.

Thanks everybody!!!! I knew I could count on you!! Group hug

I'm going to take Pretty Lady Rose off the list.

Shyam - another vote for Violet's Pride! Excellent!! Do you have Mother and Child and Princess Charlene de Monaco or are you just going by what you've seen on the internet? I agree...they both look gorgeous!!!

Zuzu - any shade of pink is my favorite. Lovey dubby But, I've had reservations about getting Pretty Lady Rose...and you saying yours is a dud is the final nail on its coffin. Thumbs down

These really tall roses are going to be a pain...they'll have to be repotted more often. But...I don't care... Whistling I'm going to try them.

Thank You! Thumbs up
