Just found some buds on this small leaves hoya. Not sure what it is. Maybe a Publicalyx variety? Some(not all) of the leaves have a small about of silver splashing. The buds are quite small and delicate. Maybe a better idea when it actually blooms

The buds don't look like any H. pubicalyx I've ever seen but it kinda reminds me of one the that I had once. Hoya acuta blooms had a nice, sweet fragrance.

It might be better apparent when it actually blooms. I seem to have a lot of unnamed hoyas running around all over the place in there

There are so many that look alike but yes, a bloom will better help with identity. I wish we had some of the knowledgeable Hoya growers still around; like AlohaCarol and SRQHoyas, etc.

Maybe its because hoyas grow giant tendrils and take up a lot of space, that demand went down and the little shops couldn't make it? I know the little hoyas I bought in the last few years, are now my largest hanging plants next to the spider plant. They block the windows and I'm trying to figure out how to move them around, because they're so nice I don't want to get rid of them. Princess is flowering today. This plant started out as 3 stems.....

Gina, maybe the silver splashing will become more pronounced as it ages, and it'll have some pink too.?.

I have Pink Silver, it was actually the first hoya I ever got about 25 years ago, this is not it. You know the way to reduce the size of those hoyas is to root cuttings and trade them! Or trade them unrooted! Lots of folks would trade you for some. What varieties do you have?

Just saw your question, Gina! I have Pink Silver, Queen, Princess, Australis, Wayetti, Mathilde, Curtisii and Hindu Rope. Oh geez, I never listed them all before. No wonder I can't see out the windows. Rolling on the floor laughing

Hi Majestic27, Welcome! to the site!

Your pretty plant might be or it might be a variety of Hoya pubicalyx but it's impossible to say for sure if it didn't have a label when you got it. You can view photos for comparison of H. skinneriana at the blue link above and here are our database entries for Hoya pubicalyx plants where you can find lots of photos for comparison to H. pubicalyx: https://garden.org/plants/sear...

I was in my greenhouse yesterday working and had the doors open, and who should fly in but a little hummingbird? Went STRAIGHT for my Hoya 'Pink-silver' that is blooming live a mad man, flitted from umbel to umbel, took a tour about the place, didn't see anything else it wanted, and flew out the door.

When we lived in the Daytona Beach area, I had my Hoyas hanging outside in the trees where they attracted Hummingbirds and moths. I'd so love to have them outside here but unfortunately the squirrels tear them up!
