what I could never really understand is why they did so well stuck to the Lexan wall. Its 4mm polycarb, and when its really cold outside, even though the GH is heated, the walls still must get cold? But it never phases anything stuck to the wall. Go figure Award winning beaded art at ceinwin.deviantart.com! |

I just got my Masdevallia book in the mail and I noticed what the temperature range is for a warmth tolerant Masdevallia, 68-80 degrees! I can't imagine that a Dracula would actually prefer it any warmer. Rodney Wilcox Jones, my idol! Businessman, Orchid grower, hybridizer, lived to 107! |

I have been able to bloom Dracula vespertilio and Dracula cordobae in my Zone 10b. I bring them in for the winter when it gets in the low 50's and just took them outside again now that lows are again in the mid 50's but going the other way. They are in the middle of the pergola facing east, so like Bill said, morning sun. What I learned after many failed attempts is that it is a daily watering plant here. We get very dry when the Santa Ana winds start up so I keep a spray bottle of RO water for them and some others that need daily water. Right now it is 82 degrees an 40%. This summers project is to put in a mister system. |

It was 90 here the past couple days and today so humid you could cut it with a knife. I'm going to entertain other thoughts lol Award winning beaded art at ceinwin.deviantart.com! |

I wish we could get about half of your humidity! Got up to 95 here today, but no higher than 33% humidity, and that is a good day. |

Believe me, I wish we could send half (or more) of our humidity to you. ![]() Minds are like parachutes; they work better when they are open. |

I was out in the greenhouse for 20 minutes yesterday in the early morning and after that amount of time it was just like I had jumped in the pool. My husband and I always have this argument. We both run distance, but he gets up at 0430 and goes to run with a group that leaves at 6am to 'beat the heat'. especially in summer. But the humidity at 6am is always 100% from now until maybe November? I wait and get up at 7am, have coffee, and leave about 8am. Yeah its hotter but the sun has had a chance to come up and burn off a little humidity Award winning beaded art at ceinwin.deviantart.com! |

I do not believe that "you beat the heat" in Florida. It beat me!! I moved to Michigan. ![]() Rodney Wilcox Jones, my idol! Businessman, Orchid grower, hybridizer, lived to 107! |

Yeah its a relative thing. They always talk about the afternoon thunderstorms rolling through to 'cool everything off'. They one passes and immediately steam is rising up off the road like the jungle and it turns into a sauna Award winning beaded art at ceinwin.deviantart.com! |
