I am most fortunate to live within 30 minutes driving time of fabulous Longwood Gardens, Kennett Square, Pennsylvania. I hope some day I have more leisure time to visit this great place, but now it seems we go only when relatives come to visit us. So when we do make the trip, one of my favorite places to visit is their Orchid Room. It is best to visit during the daytime so you can use natural light to take photographs, but night time is good because of their lighting makes the colors jump from the flowers. Please enjoy the photographs I recently took on July 31, 2010. If only we could capture the intoxicating fragrance of these awesome flowers. Ursula, You are most welcome. Photographs I can take but I lack the knowledge to make even a Phalaenopsis happy, so that is why I am here to change that. Joseph |
Joseph, I have the same problem, Phals shudder in my presence. Cattleyas are a lot easier! |

Thank you, Ursula, Kathy and Lindsey! Orchids are like Water Lilies, their flowers shout TAKE MY PICTURE!!!! to nature photographers LOL. I will get busy adding them to the database. I will transcribe the information that was on their ID tag. I have a few other visits of photographs I will have to assess if they are worthy for prime time. |
