I have shown a few seedling blooms over in the other thread for blooms for April but then thought I should actually start a thread for just the seedlings like we had last year.
These seedling are some culled seedlings I bought at the Mobile Flower show several years ago, at a booth that was hosted by Abundant Daylilies. I normally refer to them as my "Sattelmeier seedlings."
I think I originally had 25 of them and am now down to only 13. The critters did most of the selection, not me, except for one I remember that was really just awful. I have thought about getting rid of all of them, but they help remind me of how good a seedling should be in order to be registered. These are examples of what a real grower did not deem registration worthy. So far all of these look better than most seedling of mine are looking . After another year or two I will probably cull all of these, but for now they help me to be more critical of the plants I grow.

I did have one of my own seedlings to have a first bloom this morning also, and this one actually looked pretty good, and it is on a tall sturdy scape which shows some promise of branching, and no rust so far. I have quite a few seedling to show rust and am currently just pulling worst leaves from them. I would like to see how the rust displays over the next two years. I have some named variety plants showing rust this year that don't normally have rust. Also I have a few plants that do normally show severe rust that so far have shown no rust?
My seedling blooming this morning: Well, at least it's not another yellow one. Whistling

Thanks for starting this thread Larry. I too have some of my own seedlings that will bloom this year and I'm anxious.

Mark, does have some spectacular seedlings that are tossed. I agree with your view, as it helps us determine nice verses drool worthy. That's a nice red on your seedling.

Ooops hit the finish before I was ready. wanted to add that the seedling you see in my avatar is going to bloom again this year. so far, it shows no rust, increases is very nice. No rebloom yet, but fingers crossed for this year.

I see that both Fred and Larry posted April 2019 Seedling threads. Since I saw this thread first, I will go ahead and post my April seedling blooms:

CCC01 - Laughing Clown x Zanti Misfit - One of my oldest and best performers. (I had to stake the scape as my dog had jumped on it and bent it down. It never needs staking otherwise!):
Thumb of 2019-04-27/beckygardener/b1ac21

SSS23 - Unknown (Due to mixed up labels, but it appears to me that it might possibly have a Dragonfly Dawn seedling as one of it's parents.)
Thumb of 2019-04-27/beckygardener/ff08ac

SSS66 - (This is a child of ZZZ66 (Dragonfly Dawn x Dragonfly Dawn) x ZZZ67 (Dragonfly Dawn x Dragonfly Dawn) And what I see is rust on the leaves. I know that DD is not rust resistant. It appears that the more you inbreed it, the rustier it gets.

Rust on the leaves:
Thumb of 2019-04-27/beckygardener/1fd6b8

SSS68 - Sibling to seedling above (SSS66). Foliage appearance leaves a lot to be desired.:
Thumb of 2019-04-27/beckygardener/b8aba7

TTT10 - CCC01 x Galaxy Explosion.
Thumb of 2019-04-27/beckygardener/5f0ad1

TTT12 - Sibling to above TTT10. Has a lot of the traits of it's pod parent.
Thumb of 2019-04-27/beckygardener/46fbd2

TTT14 - CCC01 x Wild One. I really like the bloom on this one. I hope the scape is taller with future blooms:
Thumb of 2019-04-27/beckygardener/7de794

TTT23 - God Save the Queen x Cobalt Rings. Showing rust! Crying What I have concluded here where I live, is that any seedlings that have some beautiful patterned blooms, usually shows rust or some other leaf ailment.
Thumb of 2019-04-27/beckygardener/250e80

TTT26 - CCC05 x Little Jet Setter - Another seedling from last year that I really like!
Thumb of 2019-04-27/beckygardener/d38dfc

TTT27 - Sibling to TTT26 above.
Thumb of 2019-04-27/beckygardener/8d9a15

TTT36 - Galaxy Explosion x Wild One:
Thumb of 2019-04-27/beckygardener/74aaaa

TTT38 - Sibling seedling to TTT36:
Thumb of 2019-04-27/beckygardener/e36797

UUU02 - Galatic Green x Pirate's Smile - This is a fun one!

Thumb of 2019-04-27/beckygardener/05a878
Thumb of 2019-04-27/beckygardener/d47975

UUU03 - Unknown due to labels mixed up. I suspect that this one is either Triple Trinity x One Ring or a Dragonfly Dawn x unknown seedling.
Thumb of 2019-04-27/beckygardener/9abd37

UUU05 - CCC01 x ZZZ19 (This one so far has turned out like I was hoping) It just needs a better bud count and a taller scape:
Thumb of 2019-04-27/beckygardener/d28995

UUU07 - Little Jet Setter x CCC01 - This one was featured in another thread. The branching and bud count have impressed me:

I see I am not the only one that has had problems (mine due to critters digging up plants and labels) with identifying crosses. I am not even going to try with the seedlings in these three beds unless something of real interest pops up. I am posting these mostly just to show that it normally takes more than luck to get decent looking seedlings, it takes a lot of knowledge and labor and persistence. I do have them recorded and there might be enough of the puzzle left to put the pieces together if it became necessary to really ID a specific plant. Still, even a blind hog can occasionally root out an acorn, so keeping my fingers crossed. Here are some seedling blooming this morning.

The fourth one down was my favorite this morning. The color really stands out, much more than I was expecting it to.

Larry - Love the color of that one! Like Sunset colors. Lovey dubby

And I think you got yourself some beauties with many of the others you also posted prior. How many seedlings are you currently growing?

Here are some from today. Many are repeats, but the blooms look a little different because the photos were taken in the afternoon (not the early morning).
