I keep wild tomatoe plants in my compost to feed the worms I pick from my good tomatoes they are the best bait you can use fishing for sun fish and bass I even use them in salt water

Great Idea!
They also turn into the most spectacular night flying moth, sphinx moth, for which I grow plants just to have those around, and never have a problem with the few tomatoe plants I grow.

I'm with you! I always grow one extra tomato--if hornworms show up, I move them to THEIR plant~ Same with the swallowtail butterfly caterpillars that go after my dill or parsley. I grow several pots of parsley and donate a couple to the caterpillars. We cannot have butterflies or moths if we don't let the babies eat!

The sphinx moth is the insect equivalent of a hummingbird. They can hover and fly just like a hummingbird. Plus they pollinate some plants.
