Hello All! I've got 4 Mister Lincolns and up until about a week ago they were all looking great. Pushing out lots of new growth and reaching for the sky. This is their second year in the ground so I was getting very excited about the potential. About a week ago 1 of the 4 started to get yellow veins in the leaves. I came to realize this was due to a lack of oxygen; we'd been getting a ton of rain. The plan is to pull it up and improve the drainage of his surrounding soil. Today during my morning check-in, I noticed he has some leaves that look to be shriveling up almost like they've been burnt but it definitely has not been hot enough to actually burn the leaves (I don't think). We had maybe one day where the temp got up to maybe 70. Any ideas as to what's going on and how I can remedy? ![]() ![]() |

Ray Gun, One of the roses I planted from a bare root, Feb 1st, "Perfume Delight", has one cane where the leaves did that a few weeks back. But the rest of the plant looked Okay. I did nothing except the regular maintenance spraying. And it still is growing well and putting on blooms. I keep watching it but it seems to be okay. The leaves on that one cane are still curled. As you know, I am certainly no expert. Hopefully yours are gonna be okay! The "Mr. Lincoln" that I was concerned about, when I joined this forum 6 weeks ago, appears to be "done". I have tried everything to no avail. But all of my others are looking really good. Again, Good Luck! Moondog Life is too short, no matter how long we're here. Thanks Moondog! I'm hoping it's something he bounces back from. I'm sorry to hear about your Lincoln that's a real shame. At least your others are thriving still and I see you planted even more. Seems like a numbers game most of the time when you're doing everything else you're 'supposed to'. I appreciate your well wishes! |

RayGun, I'm not sure if it's the same thing or not. Here's what I have. Perfume Delight overall ![]() Here are the close-ups ![]() ![]() The leaves are shriveled, but they've been that way all along, and the plant appears to be okay (to me). I am not sure what might be happening. I looked at your pictures and you area right they look almost like they got too much sun. |

Ray_Gun, I don't think you have anything to worry about at this stage. |
