That was a great experience to order from a new nursery; I couldn't be more contented to get three rare roses I have wanted for years. It hardly seems real to finally get Duchesse de Rohan, and she's over a foot tall. Hummingbird may be my new favorite. |

Congratulations - that's great that you've gotten a rose you've wanted for so long. Please show us photos when it blooms. |

Thanks Mike, it might be a long wait for a bloom; my new neighbor came over for the first time to talk in the middle of my feverish potting operation racing against the bands drying out. Distracted I may have torn the roots off Rohan and planted a stick. |

I also just received a beautiful MME Pierre Oger from Hummingbird. The plant is big and quite nice. I would definitely order from them again. |

Wow, from the photos on HMF Madame Pierre Oger looks wonderfully exquisite. |

Yes, that is why I have been wanting it. According to what I have read, it is a shell pink with darker pink edging. It looks quite delicate. I will put it near Boule de Neige and Village Maid. The pink should really stand out. |

Village maid!!!!That will look dreamy! |

Dreamy is right, I love the looks of Villiage Maid and Boule de Neige too. What a beautiful combination that will be. I went the cheaper route today and bought a big fluffy white begonia, white pansy and pony pack of light blue lobelia. There are some great modern roses , still there is something about the Old Garden roses that feels more meaningful to me. I hope Hummingbird Roses expands their inventory of the vintage type, they are getting so scarce to come by. |
