I saw a web page said that Lady Banks is aphid resistant. I'm wondering what it means. A rose with aphid resistance means it would get less aphids or get less harm from aphids? I'm not even sure if this description is real.

Come to think of it, I've never seen aphids on any of my banksias.

Maybe they just don't taste good to aphids. A lot of things love to munch on one thing and not another. The rabbits steal my tulip blooms all the time but never touch the daffodils.

Daffodils must taste awful. They're the only bulbs the gophers don't want.

Seil, that's what I was thinking.

Zuzu - really? Didn't know that. Smiling

I've never seen an aphid on any of my banksiaes, either. Or, for that matter, Purezza, which is half-banksia.

I never even thought about that until I read this thread.

Sounds like they should be in a breeding program!

Looks like it's true! Now I would like to get a banksiaes as long as I could find a spacious lot for it. ^^

I'm not a "no sprayer" by any means but the only insecticides I've used in years are Spinosad for Thrips and insecticidal soap for Aphids. I've got such a good population of beneficial insects and spiders that I almost never see an aphid.
