Happy Mother's Day to all. My daughter sent me a gift certificate for Jackson and Perkins, so much to my surprise, since I had no plans to add more roses, there will be two new ones coming whenever, hopefully by next week. I am getting La Park and Mauvelous. Mauvelous is in the data base, but La Park is not. I will have to put it in there when the rose arrives and blooms. Just for fun, here is a progression of bloom on Devonensis.:

Avedon - I looked up Mauvelous...it's supposed to have a lemon fragrance!! YUM!

We went to Moxie's for lunch, and at the end of the lunch, the waiter said that mother's were welcome to take home one of the plants around the restaurant! There were 6 inch pots of flowers...and in the flower pots were certificates for 1/2 price for a bottle of wine. How nice!!! And I searched amongst all the boring plants and found a red miniature rose bush!!! Yay!!! It's really pretty!

Then we went home, and my husband potted up my 6 bare roots from Palantine! Yay! It was a great Mothers' Day!!

For a picture and description of La Park, you can go to the J P website, but I prefer Park Seed, for their description includes the fragrance. It just sounds wonderful, and I do so hope when the plant arrives that it will bloom and I can post pictures.

Since I posted on this thread I wanted to continue with a picture of the two roses from J and P that arrived today, my lovely Mother's Day gift from daughter and son-in-law.


La Park on the left, Mauvelous on the right. They have already been planted and each one has a bud, fingers crossed they can develop and I can get the pictures for you.

Avedon - oooh!!!! Lucky you!!! I can't wait to see how these roses do for you! I'm excited to see pictures when they come!!!
