It's been a weird spring with tons of rain and a weak sun. Many of my roses could use deadheading now but some are still hanging on. Here are the last blooms.
William Shakespeare 2000 is usually a very dark red with purple undertones. This spring he's more purple than red but just as lovely.
Princess Alexandra of Kent is quite late in blooming this year but she's a welcome sight!
The Endeavour Rose has a lovely color, a good scent, and is a great repeat bloomer too.
Bishop's Castle has a lovely violet undertone to his pink color.
Thomas a Becket has one of the best scents of all my roses! He's surrounded by Princess Alexandra of Kent because he's leaning into her space. I can't figure out what to call it but it seems to be a combination of fruit, honey, and jasmine.
The Wedgwood Rose can be a bit sprawling sometimes but is quite lovely. I'm just not very good with providing support to climbers.
The Reeve a fragrant dark pink Austin with Leander to the right behind him.
A new rose for me is Violet's Pride that's growing as a tree standard. VP has lovely lavender and pink shades and has a good scent.
Diane Loomer is a new rose from Brad Jalbert that I just got from Palatine. I thought she was a yellow rose but her very first bloom is orange/yellow. She was rain battered but she's holding up well.
Augusta Luise is another new rose for me from Palatine. I remember trying to buy it last fall when it took an hour and half. So many people tried to buy it that my cart crashed three times until I was finally able to check out.
The things we do for roses! I think AL lives up to her hype - she's still tiny but blooms a lot with changing shades and she's fragrant too! AL is a bit darker in this pic but bloomed more pinky orange a couple of weeks ago.
Hope you like the pics!
