Redbud Bouquets

Little "bouquets" lined up on a redbud limb. Not sure why they sometimes grow this way, but they look like ready-made bouquets.

We have a couple of redbuds and only one of them has blooms on the trunks and limbs. I've always thought it was curious, but haven't looked into it until now. Apparently redbuds are cauliflorous, latin for "stem flower". Here's the link if you'd like to learn more:
