I never get tired of the verbascums...and I'm so happy that one decided to seed all around this zebra grass...shows me that I should plant stands of them together, instead of just 2-3 plants...
and when the sun shines through the yellow ones...wow.

I am so thrilled, thrilled, thrilled with the white Verbascums (blattaria)....they have not reached this height here before...and never in SoCal...the yellows out in front reached about 11' the last couple of years.....I have 3 in pots that I know of for sure ...and more babies in the ground to transplant today. I'm intent on having more stands of these placed around...and thankfully, today is overcast and cool...finally. I see a couple of spots out fron that have what I now consider meager plantings of 3 plants...they are getting from companions today...lol..

Verbascum blattaria buds...keep trying to grab a pic of these when the wind isn't blowing, not having much luck, so dunno if you can really tell, but the buds look like little pink satin, star-shaped pillows....they're exquisite.

I made the mistake of letting one verbascum go to seed near my vegetable bed - I have been pulling up verbascum plants for the last three months. The good thing is that the flowering stalk makes a nice handle to pull on and the roots are rather shallow.
