The only thing I'd add is to root wash your trees. Remove ALL planting medium, both in potted and B&B trees to inspect the root system. Defects inside are invisible, but slow killers. Also this medium will never be 100% the same as your native soil, impeding tree establishment even further.

Tip: roots need to radiate from the trunk like spokes on a wheel
