D. I've deluded myself into thinking I can care for all these irises. *Blush*

I managed NOT to look up the iris names in the Mid-America sale. That way I wasn't tempted. Angel

I was so worried that Chris wouldn't get back from his annual day of ocean fishing with a friend in time to pick up my Mid-America package at the post office today. But he did. (it arrived yesterday, but we got home from my dentist's appointment too late to pick up then!

But, NO WORRIES! The big beautiful rhizomes look like they were dug yesterday. No browning at all!
The MA guys know what they're doing, that's for sure. If I were fifty years younger, I'd volunteer to weed - just to learn their gardening secrets! Hilarious! Hilarious! Hilarious!

Thanks for the sale ,Thomas, et al.

Thomas Johnson sent me an email saying that if you sent in an order and haven't heard from him in 24 hours at this point he didn't receive it. So if you're in that boat make sure to send it again.

Didn't know there was a 2019 list til I saw the post here. Thanks so much for posting this. So I added to my order from yesterday. LOL There were a couple I WISH were on the list. I'm getting too old now to wait years for them to bloom. The ones I got last year in the sale didn't bloom except for one. I got 3 of each last year and all three of Core Values bloomed for me and were gorgeous.

OMG, did the earth tilt off it's axis? I checked the Mid America catalog and found the photo for Mystic Art was underwhelming to say the least (sorry Thomas, but we still love you). So what a relief, Liz you didn't miss that one at all, it was completely understandable since you probably didn't see Brad's photo until way after your orders had been sent and filled. That was a close one folks, Liz is after all the Queen Bee of iris owners on the forum, no? nodding Rolling on the floor laughing

Who has the guts to hold off ordering on time next year in hopes of scooping in for a late sale? Who wants to play in next year's game of chicken? Game on.

Not me. I have some that I definitely want, like Ninja Warrior, which were not offered for a discount. Having to buy $100 worth encouraged me to buy irises that I wouldn't have bought otherwise (but am happy to have). Smiling

Jan, you are so adorable. For what it's worth, I was already pecking away at the seed dish in the chicken coup this year. Stick a fork in me, I'm done..... too! Thumbs up

I wouldn't play chicken with the MA sale. Last year they had very few on sale, and you had to get 3 of each. This year they had a great growing season so many more were available. If you want a particular iris then waiting would be risky as it is hard to tell what will be on sale!

I agree, it's a toss up. You never know what may be available. Not every intro was offered.

I did the same too!

This sale was a great sale! Like Leslie said, you had to buy 3 to get the sale price in previous year's sale. Hope they will have a great year next year so that a sale like this year is offered again. Smiling Smiling Smiling

Hearing all of this makes me even happier that I bought more from them with this sale - this is my first year buying iris in decades, and I think I've been very lucky.

Happiness Is...coming home and the mailman is on your doorstep pulling a Mid-America box out of his bag. The side increases on the Mystic Art rhizomes are as many as 9 each!
