My first 2019 introduction is now registered, AHS approved.
'After You' (2019) Diploid
35" tall, 5" flowers, Dormant, Re, extended, average 4 Br, 25 Buds.
Scapes hold 20 -35 buds. The same scapes will bloom for over 70 days and re-bloom makes for a long bloom time on this one. Rust resistant genetics.
Galaxy Explosion x (Nikki Schmith x Blue Oasis)
Thumb of 2019-09-20/kidfishing/dddc06

Now I can tell everyone honestly that I named a daylily After You.
I have had this name on my list for 10 years and decided a couple of years ago that this flower would get the name if still available when I register it.

Currently working thru the selected seedlings and we will have 4-6 more diploids and a tet or 2 coming soon.

It looks fantastic, Kid. I can see Galaxy Explosion in it, and hope the rust resistance of that one took good hold.

Beautiful!
Prudence, indeed, will dictate that Governments long established should not be changed for light and transient causes; and accordingly all experience hath shewn, that mankind are more disposed to suffer, while evils are sufferable, than to right themselves by abolishing the forms to which they are accustomed.

Thank you all. Named 'After You' not after me.
My main hybridizing goal is to make flowers in colors like the southern hybridizers but hardy even dormants that will perform in my tough growing conditions.
Since we started hybridizing 11 years ago, I have also added a goal to create one and just try to get it out there in lots of gardens, (either for enjoyment or criticism of my work) but I can't grow enough increase like those in areas where there is a much longer ideal growing season. Many of our plants can go into summer dormancy from extended dry and hot weather, while many other places they would be increasing new baby plants. They mostly stop growing with temps around 100f and if we water too much in these conditions we can cause some to rot from high heat and wet.
As with most everything in our southwestern gardens it takes a while to get from a seed to a named cultivar. We have a limited number of fans available for 'After You'. I divided the whole clump since it was impossible to count fans in the clump. Only 20 fans Sad More demand than plants available. And the divisions are multiple fans, so really few of them. Still I want to get my favorite seedlings out there as soon as possible. I ain't as young as I once was and only so much time to work hard at this hobby.

This one will likely be the most popular of any seedling we have produced.
I think it is going to have to be a 2020.

I too love the name and your After You intro! What a beautiful and unique color! THe fact that it reblooms in your climate is fantastic. But I can definitely understand the limited number of fans available for sale even into the 5th year of the seedling. I have some seedlings that after 4 years in the ground have an increase of only 3-4 fans. There are seedlings with faster increases but even then those only yield 5 double fans at the most.
