I've still got some acorns left to share. Just share a picture/pictures of plant/s you received from some generous soul on this website. Hurry - the countdown clock is ticking!

Wish I could..when I tried I got backlash over it so I decided not to offer any plant swap or cuttings. Never had a problem like this in my other plant communities

Hi @Mardel
As you've read from a lot of exchanges (both with you and among others if you've just been "listening in" to different threads), this group is really friendly and open. I guess that you had a bad first experience, but hopefully the subsequent interactions have been more enjoyable. As with any time two or more people get together (in person or just online), some friction may occur, often inadvertently or through misunderstandings. I'm really glad that you decided to stay on the site, and are joining in.
I'm sending you acorns - hope you win big! I also hope that you'll post a picture or two of your favorite plants from your garden.

This won't count because I honestly can't remember where I got half the plants & seeds I've gotten over the years. Here, old GardenWeb, nurseries, etc. To @Mardel, I know that just as in life we get dishonest & rude people, there are a few in the gardening community. As well as swindlers & people just out to get free anything. These people usually burn enough people that they get chased off or they leave on their own.

I suffered from post-partum depression after my daughter was born & could barely muster the energy to tend to my newborn or 2 year old. I had no interest in being outside or gardening. Once I talked to my doctor & was sent to a shrink, I started getting out of my funk. I remember taking the trash can to the road & hearing a bird chirping. That bird sounded happy! And I thought, "I want that happiness". As I walked back into the house I remembered to check the mailbox. There was a garden catalog from Henry Fields or Michigan Bulb, & bored, I thumbed through it. I don't know why but a drawing of a Queen's Tears plant caught my eye. I decided that would be my treat to myself once I got out of my funk, & if I could find the plant & if it was even a real plant.

I did get out of my funk but couldn't find the plant. Finally found one through one group or site or another.

Now, I divide them & when they are big enough, I donate them as raffle or auction items for various animal shelter fundraisers.

I'm also always looking to trade for more Bromeliad!!! Smiling Smiling Smiling

Yours is much prettier than the pictures on Oakes' website. Oakes is close to me and has a festival every year in June. I'll have to scope out their Spotted Fever bed next year, maybe even splurge! Thanks for posting, and @poisondartfrog for sharing!

I wanted to wait to post here until tickets were no longer available. So, that's now! i.e., no acorns needed.

I just wanted to say that I've had people from this group send me plants (or pieces of plants) and seeds, and I've sent others seeds too, over the years. I've also received NARR things here and there.

I'm very appreciative of the friendship I find here. It's so nice to be in a place where we all share this common interest, and among such kind, sharing people.

That's all. Just wanted to say that. Here's a picture of a peony I received.

Good luck to everyone today! Group hug

Oh, thank you for the acorns @pdermer1x! Very kind of you.

The peony is Garden Treasure, and it's from Hollingsworth Peonies. It's one I won in a NARR!

If I may, I'll take a moment to recommend Hollingsworth. I had a million questions as I was totally new to peonies, and they patiently answered every one. They also helped me with my peony questions over the coming year as well. It's because of them that I've been able to do well with my beautiful peonies, which I love. Plus, the roots they sent were of very high quality. Thumbs up
