Today is October 1st, can you believe it?! We don't get much autumn/fall color as those in the northern regions do but we still have pretty colors of our Bromeliads. I thought I'd start a new thread for the month and look forward to seeing everyone's lovely Broms!

I got a pup on Neoglaziovia variegata 'Pink Clone'! Hurray!

But on a sadder note the new pup on Bilbergia Tim Plowman got overwatered and did not curl Glare

I treat my Tim Plowman as though it was a cacti and so far so good.

Congrats on your Neoglazlovia pup Gina. 👍

Well its been a while since I posted an update on my Racinaeas but here is one!

I was poking around in the Houseplant Habitat 75 gal tank where I have the R. undulifolia. I was actually looking at something else when I noticed....a BLOOM SPIKE! So excited! This plant has generally kind of been a do-nothing guy since i got it, has not grown appreciably. Its those long long undulating filamentous leaves draping over the log that has the Dischidia 'Crested' growing on it. I lifted up the leaf on the Scindapsus and BOOM saw the bloom spike underneath!

This plant is mounted to the back wall in a crevice of cork. It will be fun to watch it develop. Please ignore my scabby hand...I am still fighting my poison ivy exposure.

And the mama Racinaea crispa in Houseplant Habitat upright has long since passed her bloom cycle and is slowly declining...BUT it has 2 new healthy offsets with great red speckling coming on strong!

Thanks for the new thread, Lin. Cute little froggy in the brome.

Scot and Gina, Tim Plowman is an interesting Billbergia, that is one I don't have, like the curling leaves, have you had a bloom on it yet?

Gina, nice to see all the little offsets popping out, and the corn cob is cute.

A. Nudicaulis Xavante is blooming again

Sherri, I have not had my Quesnelia marmorata 'Tim Plowman' flower. I have only seen the flowering in photos and it resembles a Billbergia in flower.

This is a new Plowman for me, I had a few years ago and they got lost, so I recollected this one. It has not bloomed yet. The older ones a long time ago did, but I can't remember what the bloom looked like

Oooh, I like the looks of Bromeliad (Neoregelia 'Skotak's Picasso') a lot too and I do see the resemblance.

This is the largest of my 3 Aechmea tayoensis. It is one of my favorite plants. This one is getting pretty huge.
