I've been very distracted from the garden this summer getting our house ready to sell and have missed some things blooming. Shirlee you're right, now that I'm beginning to cut things back knowing that I have to move them, I'm noticing quite a few rebloom scapes this year which surprises me more because we've had such dry weather up here in NH and I only watered once this season. I wish I had more lates as August isn't half way over and there's not much more to bloom in my gardens Sad I will have to change that Rolling my eyes. ....................next year

SEPTEMBER BLAZE - listed as a very late bloomer but it's been blooming for a couple of weeks now. I think J.T. Davis will be blooming longer than this yet J.T. Davis is not listed as a late, it's listed as midseason. I've learned that you can't always go by the description with any plant.

STELLA'S RUFFLED FINGERS is sending up rebloom scapes. It's a little blooming machine. One of the first to bloom in the spring and one of the last to end. It's short but that makes it great for the front of the garden. Sorry the pic is not focused.

Karin, I love September Blaze!

Nice blooms Jan! I think it's funny that you've got rebloom on Chicago Apache, and mine is on it's first blooms! It's the only one left blooming at my house, other than the last bloom on one of my seedlings.

I just looked out the front window, and Catherine Woodbury is still blooming too. I've got several large clumps of it in the front yard, and it's looked horrible this year, but it has bloomed a lot. I had no rebloom this year. A couple of years ago was the one and only time something rebloomed, but I can't remember what it was now.

I have never had reblooms before, except my Stella last summer. The long spring and hot summer I think have affected this. I have a few more getting ready to rebloom, including one of my favorites, Indian Summer ~Jan

Jan, I guess that means that there is hope for me yet! At least with rebloom! Mine got an early start this year too, so I was hoping, but have had nothing rebloom, including Stella.

Smiling Good afternoon to all!
Here's a few more blooms from the gardens the last few days. I was surprised to see that GREYWOODS FRUITE DE LOOPS was not through blooming, there were 3 blooms open yesterday Hurray! I also noticed that there is a nice fat rebloom scape on SYMPHONY OF PRAISE so I guess I'll have it around for a couple of more weeks Thumbs up I never count on rebloom scapes, I just consider them a welcome bonus. I bet if I had watered more that there might be more of them but who knows Shrug!

Natalie, SEPTEMBER BLAZE is a great flower and blooms for quite awhile. It will be making the move with me Smiling

I like SYMPHONY OF PRAISE more and more with each new picture! And ORCHID CORSAGE is a special beauty too -- and actually each of them is beautiful!

I have a few more from the last few days:

HOME OF THE FREE - A little nicer than the last bloom

BITTEN AG'IN - I'm always amazed at the color difference between sunlight and shade on some of these - to my eye as well as the camera's eye.

LACHLAN NICOLE AGIN

PRICKLY SENSATION

RASPBERRIES IN CREAM

LIMA - This is the only one of these that is in the ground, and it has been blooming for a long time now -- and I think there's still another scape that hasn't started blooming yet. It definitely has a greenish cast before sunlight hits it.

Betty, I really like that white edge on HOME OF THE FREE and the ruffles Thumbs up I also like many of Linda Agin's daylilies but so far only grow RED FRIDAY and LINDA BECK. I really love LINDA BECK, such beautiful saturated color. I'm not sure how the others would do up north here...........I might have to find out sometime Whistling I also love that green cast on LIMA Thumbs up

I wouldn't hesitate to get some SYMPHONY OF PRAISE. I think if it does so well for me in NH that it would be really well in CA. ORCHID CORSAGE is another I'll always have in the garden as I like the flower and also the fact that it's a late bloomer and I need more of those!
Life is short, enjoy the ride!

HOME OF THE FREE is exactly what I had hoped TALLADEGA would be! I never had a bloom on TALLADEGA that looked anywhere near this good, and certainly not bright red, so I'm thrilled with this one and already gave my TALLADEGA away.

I really love Linda Agin's daylilies and was thrilled when Bill Maryott put all the ones I wanted in his online catalog last year -- and they sure haven't disappointed!

Lima sure has been a sleeper for me. Didn't bloom last year or for the longest time this year, but for about the last month and a half there is always at least one bloom there. It doesn't have the great ruffled edges, but it's sure a keeper for me. And I only ordered it from Browns Ferry Gardens because it looked more on the greenish side than golden yellow, and I wanted one of those in my back yard.

Betty, thanks for posting the great pics in the sun and shade! It really is amazing how different the same plant can be, depending on the light!

Betty, LIMA reminds me of Curt Hanson's CAPACITY FOR WONDER, another favorite of mine. It has a lot of green in the throat that extends out. I can appreciate your feelings regarding HOME OF THE FREE versus TALLADAGA, I feel the same way regarding SYMPHONY OF PRAISE versus SISTER OF PRAISE. SYMPHONY OF PRAISE is so much better Thumbs up

Thanks Karin. You know, I've seen some beautiful pictures of TALLADEGA here in the forum, but I guess it's just not happy in my little micro environment. I tried it for three years and was disappointed every year, but I know it blooms beautifully for others. And HOME OF THE FREE has the look for me that I saw in other people's pictures of TALLADEGA, so that's the one for me. I don't want to be too negative about TALLADEGA because I know it can be beautiful too.

And now I know I should try SYMPHONY OF PRAISE rather than SISTER OF PRAISE!

Betty, I love Home of the Free, and Raspberries and Cream.
I am particularly fond of the reds and the reds/whites. I just have
a few of them. I like them as much as I like the purples.

Karin, the pic of Orchid Corsage is beautiful, also love the
Northwind Curly Joe.

Lovely flowers all.
