You are not being patient. Nepenthes have to be mature enough to grow pitchers - you will know when the leaves start growing tendrils. If it grows tendrils but no pitchers, it may be one or both of two problems: Inadequate light and lack of humidity. Between 5 - 10 years of age, your Nepenthes will also start to climb.

I have found my Nepenthes always so thirsty, so they are always in standing water.

Their leaves grow so big too during winter, as it tries to absorb as much light they can get. As long as your plant is making leaves, just be patient, it will grow those pitchers eventually, but must be kept moist as much as you can.

Nepenthes slow down a lot on pitcher making in the fall and winter. It's normal. In the spring LIGHTLY MIST the leaves with a 1/4 strength solution of orchid food every 2 weeks. This will help induce pitchering. Make sure to grow it in BRIGHT shade and never let the soil mix dry out.

VFT's do require winter dormancy, so maybe your plant is just going dormant.
