I finally found a Hoya linearis, and it's a long one! I would not normally spring for this plant but calling it a holiday/birthday present to myself makes it ok nodding I was relieved to find it in my own state of Ohio, lucky break for me. It has at least one peduncle that I've seen so far. I put it in my lucky Hoya window next to the shower where my Bilobata/DS-70 is currently forming a peduncle. Also hanging out there is another relatively new Hoya to me, Sipitangensis "Rebecca" which I did admittedly order online when we had a warm spell in the 60s. I had never ordered a Hoya online before (except a Kerrii leaf on amazon) so I was scared about Rebecca, but the weather was great and I couldn't resist. *Blush*
Anybody have interesting linearis or Rebecca tips and facts to share? Smiling

Thumbs up on finding that gorgeous Wax Plant (Hoya linearis) I had one about 14-15 years ago and ended up giving it to a neighbor when I downsized. I haven't seen that one for sale in a long time!

I'd never heard of Wax Plant (Hoya sipitangensis) and it looks like another one with pretty little blooms that are said to be fragrant!

Thanks, Lin! I'm interested to see h. Sipitangensis in bloom. It has a few peduncles, so hopefully one day Crossing Fingers!
I've given it a while to acclimate to my environment but it desperately needs to be repotted soon. I can tell it's an older plant because the 4" nursery pot is brittle and cracking apart around the plant.

I was still secretly wishing to walk into Lowe's one day and see a linearis hanging there, but I think I've given up hope on that.

The only linnearis I have seen for sale recently were from the UK. I guess the folks that have them are having onto them. Of course not everyone has jumped onto the 'backyard gardener, will propagate plants and sell for big bucks' bandwagon. Sometimes it just seems that way.

I was thrilled to get this plant back, and also thrilled to get my little starts of retusa. My old retusa was a true specimen plant, on todays market it would sell for a few hundred dollars as a single plant and if I chopped it up maybe more at auction. But its long gone and I have to start over

I did see them available in the UK too. I wondered why they'd be easier to get there. I'm sure there's some reason beyond my understanding. I found this one near me in Ohio. I did really want a linearis (a lot) but I actually had planned to get an aroid as my holiday/birthday gift. This linearis sort of chose me, everything fell together and now I have it. Lovey dubby
