Just got back late last night after being gone for almost 3 weeks. (way too long during peak bloom time!!) Visited the grand kids for a couple of days in No. Calif. first before heading north to visit family in British Columbia. This is my in-laws rose covered entry into their vegetable garden. |
I believe the rose is Royal Sunset. |
What do you think, Royal Sunset? |
This is the clematis they have growing with it, fabulous combination if you ask me! Any ideas who this is? |
They live on a steep hillside and the vegetable garden is on the lower section of the lot next to the street. That's the ocean in the background, they face Vancouver Island.![]() |
Shooting up from the street, hubby and his dad were replacing the 30+ year old deck, you can see the remaining posts under the center dining room windows.![]() |
Every day I took the puppers out for a walk, sometimes twice a day. I often grabbed my camera to take pictures of the flora & fauna. A wild rose. |
Buttercups along the road![]() |
Pretty iris in mother-in-laws garden, backed by yellow species daylilies, one of my favorite color combos!![]() |
She had lots of Centaurea montana |
And this large fuchsia plant with pretty tiny dancing blooms |
Another huge clematis on the other end of the vegie garden. Any ideas which one? |
Hubby brought up a 17 lb prime rib roast. he cooked it over at his sister's house in their outdoor pit, complete with motorized turning spit. Best prime rib ever!!![]() |
By the way, this is their view, taken last Aug. Sick huh?!![]() |
Here's a closer shot of the fencing, they have old garden tools entwined on it.![]() |
I always enjoy walking around to see what's blooming.![]() |
a view of the back of the house![]() |
