So I've been noticing my Opuntias (both of them) getting brown at the base. I thought corking, but it seems a bit soon for that (they are about 8 inches, they were just 2,5 inches when I got them a year ago, indoors plants)
It seems a bit flaky in some parts. Is it something to worry about ?

The two white spots here are just old scars

I don't think it's any problem. You may want to move your plant to a bigger pot in the spring when there is good light, so that it can continue growing happily.
