No actual growth yet here but lots of budding. Been pretty warm so they're happy right now but that will change this weekend with the hard freeze that's coming. |

Thanks Carol. I have really been working hard on it. I am hoping it will do well with the first bloom. Last year we waited so patiently for it (long, cool and wet spring) and within a week, it was over. We got a heat blast that just ruined everything. This year, spring was early and I am hoping to get at least a week or two of blooms before the heat hits, but I am not optimistic, unfortunately. It is just that the past few years, the weather changes have really spoiled what should have been a nice bloom. I am looking forward to seeing my new babies bloom for the first time. BTW, Augusta is available on own root from Freedom Gardens. It is not listed on the combined rose list, however, I know Peter is propagating one for me and another for someone else (Vap--was that you?). He doesn't ship until the fall however. I still feel awful for you losing your roses and hope some can be saved. I don't know if he ships to Canada but it might be worth checking out. He has such unusual and old roses. I am also getting Schön Ingeborg from him as well. Again, not listed but he is growing one for me. |

Here are some of my roses with their new growth. Thought I'd better post before they are covered with black spot. It usually sets in about June. I battle it every year. I'm going to try actinovate this year. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() “ Be kind whenever possible” 14th Dalai Lama |

I'm in WV zone 6A-B-ish. Our Roses come out of winter dormancy. Starting growing again. Then we got winter again. And it killed all the new growth. And we lost a bunch big long tall canes that grew last year clear up until Decemeber because we had strange weather. So the cold and frost has finally left. And they started growing again. I pruned all the old dead canes off today. Weve had a weird last few years between fall-winter-spring. |

We had a very early hard freeze in early November. Froze fully opened blossoms and buds on the bushes here. Our weather patterns are definable you off here, too. I thought I was the only one. “ Be kind whenever possible” 14th Dalai Lama |

MBN, I ordered mine when AL was available, but I think Carol or someone in CA may have inquired of Peter about Canadian shipping. I think he doesn't ship there, but it's worthwhile asking. |
