I pruned most of my roses drastically because black spot had denuded many of them. Based upon a suggestion from another rose forum member I have been able to control this fungus (sort of), Once the pruned roses begin to leaf out I hope to deal with black spot proactively rather reactively.

Stay safe everyone, Thanks so much for making the quarantine tolerable.

Lola, I have a few ( 4) bushes of Summer Song. I'm delighted with it. I love the colour. Its not red, nor is it orange : Somewhere in between, depending on the time in the season and in the day too. Somehow it seems to vary slightly all the time. The fragrance of course is my priority so its placed on the edge of the path so that I can have easy access to it. Mine are still small, since they arrived two seasons ago. Fortunately they still carry it down here! They are about 2' high with one with a higher cane. I expect them to grow taller.

@kohala Dennis I share with you 'Margaret Merrill'. She also seems prone to BS down here. She's just a lovely rose! Your pictures are just wonderful. I tip my hat to you. Thanks for sharing them Thank You!

Summer Song is such a unique color, can't mistake it for anything else. I have 2 of them.😁

Madame Paulette Massad was even prettier fully opened!

Crepuscule by my back gate is almost in full bloom.

@Calif_Sue, your 'Crepuscule' is just fantastic. I'm about to place mine next to a pergola paired on the opposite side with 'Alistair Stella Gray' (AKA Golden Rambler)

I'm in the works of paired climbers of similar overall kind forming a covered path each pair contrasting the previous and the following. Still all my climbers are young so none have reached the height ( of my still imaginary... Big Grin ) pergola alley. In my copious imagination there's plenty of room to visualize the fruition of projects, that are only "seen" by me. It however allows me to putter in my garden and "waste" plenty of time, while different choices take shape... *Blush* I honestly need that time... its more internal and takes longer than the actual digging the hole and planting the bush. I've got 4 double alleys plus four high fence climber walls surrounding the rose garden...Well I'm really partial to climbers and I need vertical space for them! I'm still after getting more climbers... Hilarious!

My 'Westerland' is still in a bag and needs a place definition... Sighing! It is so generous here with almost non stop blooms! Definitely loves the sun though.

Well, Arturo, if it is climbers you are after, too bad I can't send my Marchesa B down to you. She would definitely love to take over the world!

Arturo, Sue, and anyone else who has Summer Song - would SS look ok between Lady of Shalott and Jude the Obscure or would it be better off on its own away from any other colours? I ordered it a moment ago because my brother said he will take any rose I don't want for any reason. Knowing any rose that I buy but don't like will go to a good home has made me more inclined to take a chance.

Vaporvac, he was never much into roses before but the thought of getting some for free may have inspired him. He has moved back to Tasmania after renting his home out for 7 years and we really don't know how the garden has been maintained by the tenants for all those years. Free roses may be all he will have growing for a while.

Lola, its difficult to say how your positioning may turn out. I've ordered LoS this season. JtO is not available here so I don't know its looks. It has Abraham Darby in its parentage and looks quite similar. SS has a strong warm colour. It will contrast noticeably with your other two, without clashing. Imho I would take the risk of placing in between. I strongly doubt that you will regret having SS. I have 4 of them and happy to have each! Fragrance is another main attribute, to be considered when placing it anywhere. You will want to stoop to get a whiff everytime you pass along!.

It reminds my 'Ferdinand Pichard' very much. But there are quite a few of more modern stripeys out there!

That Eden is outstanding!

Betsy, do you know how long you have had that rose or when you purchased it? Or even where you purchased it? Could be Scentimental. Is there a scent? How big is the rose bush?
