I have no idea how I lost the Brom forum from my "watch" list but not being able to go anywhere due to the Covid-19 stuff right now, it looks I'll have some free time to catch up! Green Grin!

What got me back here is a new member posting on the Ask a Question Forum, looking for an identification on a Brom that she thought was Neoregelia 'Raphael'. I suggested that it may be the one spelled 'Rafael' but I really have no clue and thought maybe some of y'all more knowledgeable Brom. folks can take a look? Her post is here: The thread "Neoregelia Raphael?" in Ask a Question forum

Hi Lin, I've wondered what happened to you, glad you found us again. You're good about helping others, glad everyone was able to help ID the bromeliad, sorry I just now saw it all, but looks like it was solved by Scott, he's so good at ID-ing these plants. Thumbs up

I realize most like the brilliant bright colors on Bromeliads. I am very pleased with the Blackberry coloration on Neoregelia 'Blackberry'.

I like that one also, how are you going to use it in your landscape?

I like the really dark ones too, Scott. That's a beauty.

I've got a few Bill. 'Darth Vader' just coming into their own this year, from some very small starts I got at Tropiflora. Can't wait to get home (end of May now, it appears) so I can see how they're coming along.

I bet you are anxious to get home Eliane. My Darth Vader has really given many new plants, but still not one flower, as far as I know Scott is the only one that has had a flower.

I like all the colors under the sun of bromeliads. LOL Blackberry is very nice, and the dark ones do look nice mixed in with other colors.

This Guzmania 'Indian Knight' has three flowers now, they're a bit more wine colored than they come out in the photos, I can't ever seem to get the exact color of them to turn out.

Alice, I have a few ideas on using it in a community mounting. I have plenty of the small growers that I believe will make a stronger impact growing together. At this time I am observing the light conditions needed for best coloration and growth rates of the plants I have in mind.

Halyna, What is the leaf length and height of the inflorescence on your plant? Are the spines along the leaf edge as black as they appear in the photo?
I have a couple of thoughts 🤣 running through my head.
Aechmea was the first to come to mind with Portea running a very close second.
I do not see it as Delmar or Blue Tango though. Inflorescence is more open and airy on the plant up for identification. Delmar and Blue Tango have a compacted appearance.

Hi, ScotTi. Sorry for answering late. I'm so busy right now due to extreme weather making a damage on my property almost every day. Grumbling The length is 20"-21" and the height of the inflorescence is 14"-15" (21''with the stalk). The spines are black, yes.

I am not good at identifying Bromeliads from trying to compare photos but the leaf color and dark teeth resemble Bromeliad (Aechmea triangularis) We only have the one photo in the database and it's Sherri's, so maybe she will have an opinion.

Lin, The leaves have the same look, but triangularis has a cone like flower head.

Thank you, hiyall. Yeah, those teeth are scary but I am careful and they didn't get me yet. Hilarious!
The damage is not very bad but we got a huge tree on the roof of one greenhouse that broke through and now we have a hall that needs to be fixed somehow. Another greenhouse lost its cover completly and some shingles went down from the roof of our house. So much fun... We had a tornado coming through nearby and a t-storm with gusty winds next.
