I am not regretting going , yet, but now they are calling me.
One: surgeon wants to fill me with Blah, Blah, Blah about their thiking.
Two: my regular doctor want me to set up a stress test (I have been thinking of that for a while but I tend to get less pooped the longer I work , so I am sure I will fail miserably.)
And I bet they will not give me any good drugs, and blood pressure pill are not in my universe. Grumbling

Now I have to ask - what is the issue with BP meds? I'm all ears!

I have always had BP on the high side; my father had dangerously high BP his entire life and hated the drugs.
I will not take any prescription for BP until , I, think I should.

An "expert" doctor said Sharon needed heart surgery 30 years ago, she is doing fine without it.
My Cousin had his GB removed because THEY said he needed , but it was not what was causing his pain, but removing it brought more misery.
SO
No BP for me; my BP spikes and drops at its leisure, so I am not worried, but this does give me a genuine reason to get serious about getting back in shape. I tip my hat to you.

Well, I admit I kind of lean in the same direction (although I do take BP meds). I have my "annual wellness check" coming up soon and I swear if they ask me to "draw a clock" I'm going to draw a digital clock this time Rolling my eyes. .

77 degrees at 9:30 P.M.
High eighties and low nineties for the next two days then highs in the lower eigties but no significant rain for the next ten days and rain is needed badly.

North garden is all done and with a lot of watering is looking good; corn is coming up and potatoes are emerging from the mulch.
Heading South next week to annoy a doctor (their idea not mine) and maybe put some finishing touches on the vegetable garden and roses.
OF course maybe, just maybe, finally get the garage prepped for painting. Whistling
Hope every one had a good Memorial Day, I saw a lot of blood relatives at a a celebration of life of my one late nephew.
It seems I only see such relatives now at funerals. Shrug!

Very sorry for the loss of your nephew, RpR; I can relate to only seeing relatives at funerals, we're going to lower Michigan later this month for a memorial service for a brother-in-law who died in Florida in December. I was only 9 when he and my sister married and he was a big part of my life for many years. Lovey dubby

When I was trying to find some Flat-Iron steak a butcher said he had Bread and Butter Roast, it looked good, I had a gift certificate so I forked over 25 bucks to see how good they are.

Once again filled the griller with sticks, literally, nice and dry so they started right up.
Let them get down to coals, and grilled it for approx. 12 minutes per side over the red coals then moved it over to the other side and cooked it there for approx. 25 minutes on each side.
It had been well seasoned with spices, MSG, salt and pepper and sat wrapped in original paper for one week.
Now I though we were going to just eat it like a large steak but after I brought it in I had some work to do outside and when I returned she had sliced it for street tacos.

Same as before, soft flour tortillas, sliced ripe, this time yellow. chiles, sliced onions, lettuce and that sour cream based taco seasoning paste/sauce.
It was great, well done but tender , juicy and with the fat cooked to a delicious golden color.
With steak you -- usually -- get what you payed for and the butcher said this was a good substitute for Flat-Iron steak.
He was correct. ;D

That sounds delicious - but I've never heard of a "bread and butter roast." Looked it up and it seems it's a chuck roast? There are certainly a lot of creative names for cuts of meat from one end of the country to the other!

I was at home in the basement, genuine cellar, and was looking at all the canning jars that are down there.
I remembered when I was young there used to more than just Ball and Kerr so I started looking as some of the jars and found some Atlas jars.
I opened a cabinet, I look in about once every 8-10 years, and found old canning lids and rings, when I go back I will see what is all down there and see if any of the lids and rings are still good.

I found this on Atlas Jars:
https://www.healthycanning.com...

I should clean out, or at least organize what is down there, not big only 8x5x6 , wide where the shelves are and is all cement and bricks.
Last time it was really cleaned up was 40 years ago , plus or minus, when my dad and I did it.
Kind of hate to do it as it is a bit of history of back when Ma and Dad were still around. I tip my hat to you.

RpR, that sounds like a sort of "archeological dig" right in your own home Smiling

Interesting info on the link about re-using glass mayo and Miracle Whip jars; I've used them in the past for water-bath canning and don't remember having any problems either with jars breaking or lids not sealing -- I just wish those products still came in glass jars and not plastic! Sighing!

My favorite room in our old Minnesota farm house was the fruit room in the basement. My job in spring was to clean and organize it. Any jars of food that had spoiled got tossed, jars wiped down and food inventoried so my folks knew what and how much to plant that summer. The OCD side of me loved the job. The colorful jars sparkled sitting in neat rows. The fruit room was always cool and quiet. Good memories your post brought back.

I need to do my pantry now. I'm waiting for a cool, rainy weekend so there's nothing I would rather be doing outdoors. Whistling

Hopefully your jars had been emptied years ago. Thanks for that memory trip.

53/71/49, had a flash flood last night. Woke up early this morning to bag a whitetail but didn't have any luck. We saw some deer at around 4:30, but I didn't have my rifle loaded so the sound of loading ammunition spooked them.

44 degrees and rain, mostly peeing right now, with a 17mph wing.

Sharon wants me to cook Flat-Iron steak for tacos, for supper, so I am going to have to figure out how to get charcoal/wood going in a peeing rain.

Supposed to be in the sixties next week, so maybe, I can go home and get one side of the garage primed. Blinking

Cooking in the wind and rain, well, I went down to Gopher, the local bargain clearance store (they are not as every thing in one as they once were but still cover most bases) and bought some fatwood kindling, and a small bag of Onion-Garlic charcoal briquets, along with a block of firestarter (some times getting that type of firestarter started is frustrating.)

I have one of those approx. 16 inch in diameter little domed charcoal cookers.
I put in corn cobs, a few dozen chicken bones from hot wings, fatwood and the briquets.
Dumped a little alcohol on and WOOOF, I had fire.
I let it burn down to coals and cooked the Flat-Iron steak to the level so many others like, reddish in the middle.

It was a 2 plus pound Flat-Iron and it inflated so it looked like a small pillow.
The coals were perfect as there was no burn singe marks, just nice and tender , well seasoned beef for Tacos.

55 degrees at 19:30 hours.

Finally pulled the Cucumbers up North yesterday and found one new one 8 inche long.
I also pulled out the Cherry Tomato Sharon had planted and picked off any tomatoes of eating ripeness.
Ground is wet after 1 and 1/2 inches of rain so I have two heaps of pulled plants in the garden; not sure if I will bury them , best for the soil, or bag them and send to disposal.
I left two chiles plants because I could, and still have 4 tomato plants with green tomatoes of 3 inch or so diameter.
Will probably leave them one more week as frost is not forcast for the next ten days.

Marigolds still look good but Zinnia are showing their age.
Put up the corn shock up North and made a new corn cob bundle for Sharon as the squirrels had turned an original into a corn cob skeleton. I tip my hat to you.

It was too windy to deleaf the roses, wind direct coming up a hill from the West unhindered, so I did put a finish layer of dirt on the one half of the garden where I did bury a pile of debris.
We have sandy soil up here so it was amazingly easy to shovel.
It is kind of neat how when I dig down in the garden, the soil changes from more black where I have been adding debris for decades, to dark brown, the color of, still most, of my hair.
34 degree by the measure of intelligent persons, with a 16 mph, another measure of intelligent persons, and 62 percent humidity.

You are not supposed to cover roses untill there is a hard freeze, ground actually freezes an inch or so, and this year, THAT, will be no problem. Rolling on the floor laughing

We got our first snow and the cold has moved in. High of thirty today and not much of a warm up for at least in the ten day forecast. Didn't get far in my cleanup this fall, too many other things going on and it looks like I'll probably be done with my outdoor gardening for this year. I don't get very excited about working out when it gets cold. I've got lots of cuttings to take care of in the house and saved some Hosta seeds that I will try to start soon so won't be done gardening, just done outside gardening.
