We are newly moved into our house, in Suffolk UK.
The previous owners (who did not plant the tree but suggested it was 25 years plus) told us this is a Birch.
But we think the bark points more to it being a Beech.
Maybe we misheard Birch for Beech?
Or could it be something else?
Either way, it has recently been cut back and topped by professionals.
We can't help but feel it should be more in leaf by now and are a bit worried for its health.
Photos of the bark, branches and high up buds are attached, which were taken today, 12th April 2020
