Wow, Mike. That's an impressive list. They will continue to look terrific in the morning mists and dews! My roses have been soldiering on despite the occasional light frost. Each Hermosa has a small flower. Secret has been nursing its first flower bud for, I think, eight weeks. It formed, then bambi ate all the leaves, then it made more leaves. And the bud is still there, weeks from opening. Mons Tillier has a bud, too. And Malvern Hills made its second golf-ball sized flower ever. Rise 'n' Shine is growing like mad. And Apricot Nectar looks good for the first time since it was planted eighteen months ago. I keep waiting for the other shoe to drop. I guess I need to plant more mums to protect my roses from frost. I've really been doing a bad job of providing protection. When you dance with nature, try not to step on her toes. |

Steve - Not trying to laugh or make a funny, but sounds like Secret doesn't want to share it's secret with you, does it. LOL! I've got tons and tons and tons of buds everywhere. But everything is wilted and frost killed. Some look actually kinda nice frost killed.. others look, well, dead. Mike - You have GOT to share pics when they open!! Roses are one of my passions! Just opened, my Etsy shop (to fund my rose hobby)! http://www.etsy.com/shop/Tweet... |
